I'll start off with a great fact I discovered today. 90% of cot deaths occur to those under the age of 6 months.
It brings to point one of the greatest things about statitics. Most of them are made up, and those that arent, are totally pointless. Its hardly suprising is it. How many 40 year olds sleep in a bloody cot.
That wasnt the end of it though. Oh no. Complete with that stat was a list of things that increase the chances of an infant having a cot death.
- Soft Beds
- Warm Rooms
- Mutliple Blanket Layers
- Bed Sharing
So, some words of advice for any would be parents. That nice room you just finished for your new arrival? Get rid of it, and replace it with a prison cell. Because to ensure your childs saftey, they should be cold, laying on a bed of concrete with a single sheet, all on thier own.
I'll also never quite get used to the stupidity of the paperatzi. You see, all the time, you hear about them chasing Celebs through cities desperate to get pictures, often in cars. But today, I read that Lewis Hamilton repeatedly finds himself in this situation. (If you dont know who Lewis Hamilton is.... look up this year Formula One results.) Now, I'm not an expert on the driving skills of freelance photographers, but you'd thing they would think twice about trying to keep up with the 2nd best driver in the world.
Most fitting theme music of the week: King Abdullah meets the British Prime Minster and the Queen, with the Star Wars Death March as the background. Now, I'm not one to be totally anti Saudi, I've no agenda against them, but that is just the most perfect example of irony I've seen for a while.
Final note of the day. Apparently in England, the amount of people getting branded has doubled. Branded, as in, red hot iron. Like what they use to do to pirates, and various other criminals. Now, Tatoo's I get because they at least look good for a few years until you get fat and they stretch out like a overblown baloon, but branding? Lets burn myself with a red hot poker so i get a horrid red blotch that will get infected, so you'll have to go to hospital, where-apon you'll contract MRSA and die.
And why? So you can look like a pirate. Newflash. Its much easier and less life threatening to get an eye patch.
